The Army Public School, Ferozepur has well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Students are encouraged to use these laboratories to learn through experiments. Every year latest instruments, specimens, charts etc. are purchased for these laboratories.
The science teaching faculty of APS, Ferozepur continuously tries to inculcate the following values in students through well maintained science labs.
1. Skills - manipulative, inquiry, investigative, organizational,communicative.
2. Concepts - for example, hypothesis, theoretical model, taxonomic category.
3. Cognitive Abilities - critical thinking, problem solving, application, analysis, synthesis.
4. Understanding the nature of Science - scientific enterprise, scientists and how they work, existence of a multiplicity of scientific methods, interrelationships between science and technology and among the various disciplines of Science.
5. Attitudes - for example, curiosity, interest, risk taking, objectivity, precision, confidence, perseverance, satisfaction, responsibility, consensus, collaboration, and liking science.
The school has well-equipped and fully-functional three computer labs for the sole purpose of imparting quality computer education to the students of all the streams at all levels.
Army Public School Library provides academic resources for all constituents of the school -students, faculty and administrative staff. The library strives to make resources readily accessible when and wherever they are needed to enhance and promote the total growth and development of the students. The library endeavours to provide students with opportunities to learn how to utilize materials in a variety of formats to access information so that they can continue lifelong learning.
The library collection includes around 18,000 documents consisting of books and multimedia on variety of subjects.
With the installation of Smart Boards, the typical classrooms have now changed into a fun learning environment as they allow many different forms of media including photos, illustrations, maps , graphs, videos to be displayed. The interactive nature of smart board is offering learners an opportunity to share and participate in the instructional process.
School’s Maths lab helps children to develop appreciation for Mathematics as a problem-solving tool in various fields. Activities done in Maths Lab enable the child to consolidate the mathematical knowledge and skills acquired.
In order to increase their power of thinking, understanding and retention, we have a wide variety of working models such as application of trigonometry, linear equations in two variables, Pythagoras theorem, properties of triangles, exterior angle property etc.
Our English Lab is a specially designed lab based on CBSE curriculum. The contents are activity based for classes I-XII. It prepares participants to communicate effectively in English. Programs here take a learner through the step by step process of spoken English learning that includes grammar, sentence building, speaking and solving exercises. Its multimedia based content supplements the classroom teaching.
Art room of the school is the place where the children are always willing to visit and it certainly has the calm, positive and purposeful atmosphere that encourages creativity. The benefits of Art room are evident in children’s confidence and self esteem.
Considering music to be the food of soul and an important aspect of education, the music room of the school provides an excellent space where all children have their music lessons. The room is used as a rehearsal space for the school orchestra and the school choir. There is an ample supply and a wide range of musical instruments like guitar, harmonium, tabla, electronic keyboard, drum, side drum, etc.
